Justin bermaksud album ini sebagai hadiah untuk para penggemarnya, musik ini cukup mencerminkan bahwa awalnya Justin hanya bermain dengan sebuah gitar akustik atau piano tunggal. Album ini menambahkan instrumentasi akustik tambahan seperti kuartet string, congas, dan Cajon drum. perkusi ini merupakan inspirasi dari perjalanan duniawi Justin, terakhir ke Afrika. Justin bermain gitar di album bersama direktur musik dan sesama gitaris Dan Kanter.

Bieber juga ternyata menyannyikan lagu "Pray" ini di American Music Awards ke-38 yang diadakan November 21, 2010. Silakan dicatat teks lagu pray ini.
